1. What I’m inspired by: 30 minutes of reading per day! And the difference it makes in my life. With this technique, I finally snaked through hefty pages to the end of a #book I bought in 2013, but had not found the time to read. Correct that –“but had not read”, because you surely can find 30 minutes per day, can’t you? Try it. It works!

2. What I’m reading: “A Memory This Size and Other Stories. The Caine Prize for African Writing 2013”. A needed detour from sheets of #strategy and #startup sensibilities. Sometimes, we need; “… the sun closing for the day, as the familiar evening breeze paid us a visit. It won’t be long now, papa Ezinne would appear like Wili-Wili and summon us to speak.” Lol.

Cheesy attempt but I know you get it. Sometimes, we need what I call, “soul food” away from the grind. Go get yours, whatever it is; music, photography, gardening, poetry. Do you!

3. What I’m excited about: Money everywhere! According to a report by AfricArena, https://lnkd.in/dzTYwuE “virtual capital #funding for African Startups will amount to between $2.25 billion and $2.8 billion this year, a record high for the continent”. While Nigeria takes the lead with concentration of funding, https://lnkd.in/dYQXZjK , #Fintech seems to be the darling. Everywhere you turn, it seems somebody just “came into money”. Plus, there are so many names , we can’t keep up. Paystack- what have you done?!

4. What I did: Succumbed to the wall. Several times this week. Have you noticed that to read good writing online these days — I mean, REALLY good writing, you’ve got to get through a Paywall? There’s no going around or over it, that card is coming out. So it seems, finally, the #publishing industry might just be getting there. Atta boy!

5. What’s up: This! When we were younger and trying to act smart, my dad would always say, “don’t bamboozle me”. We still try to act smart (shrugs) and he still responds same way.:-) But that is what people do, bamboozle — when they try to sound smart or really don’t know what they are talking about. If you do, you should be able to explain it to a child. Here is my sister Izere Imosemi, de-bamboozling the concept of mutual funds.
What do you think? https://lnkd.in/dGt2Zhj

Enjoy!
